Polynucleotide treatments are part of a new generation of regenerative aesthetics focused on improving how the skin functions rather than simply masking the visible signs of ageing. Working at a cellular level, these advanced bio-stimulating injectables help support tissue repair, improve hydration, reduce inflammation and stimulate collagen production to create healthier, stronger skin over time.
Rather than creating volume or artificially altering the face, polynucleotides encourage the skin to repair and regenerate itself from within. This makes them particularly effective for improving skin quality, crepey texture, dehydration, redness and delicate areas such as the under-eyes, neck and around the mouth.
At Halo Aesthetics®, we use polynucleotides as part of a modern regenerative approach to skin ageing, often combining them with advanced technologies and personalised skin health strategies to achieve gradual, natural-looking improvements that continue to develop over time.
Polynucleotides are highly purified DNA fragments, most commonly derived from salmon or trout DNA due to their excellent biocompatibility with human tissue. These fragments undergo an advanced purification process before being used within regenerative injectable treatments.
Once injected into the skin, polynucleotides act as biological signalling molecules, helping to create the optimal environment for tissue repair and regeneration. They support fibroblast activity, the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin. Polynucleotides also help improve cellular communication and support the extracellular matrix, which plays a critical role in maintaining skin structure and function. Their regenerative and anti-inflammatory properties make them particularly useful in areas where the skin is thin, fragile or compromised.
Rather than creating artificial volume, this technology works by supporting the skin’s own repair mechanisms and encouraging healthier tissue function over time.
Polynucleotide treatments are extremely versatile and can be used to improve a wide range of concerns linked to skin ageing and declining skin quality. Because they work by supporting repair and regeneration within the skin itself, they are particularly effective for those seeking natural-looking improvement without adding volume or looking “done”.
They are especially popular for treating delicate areas such as the under eyes, where filler may not always be appropriate, as well as areas affected by crepey texture, thinning skin or collagen loss.
Polynucleotide treatments may help improve:
Every polynucleotide treatment at Halo Aesthetics® begins with a detailed consultation to assess your skin concerns, treatment goals and suitability. We will explain the procedure fully, including what results you can realistically expect and whether polynucleotides are the most appropriate option for your skin.
Before treatment begins, a topical numbing cream is applied to help keep the procedure as comfortable as possible. Polynucleotides are then placed very superficially into the skin using a very fine needle, allowing the product to work within the areas where repair and regeneration are needed most.
Treatment is generally well tolerated, although it is normal to experience small bumps, mild swelling and bruising immediately afterwards. Depending on the area treated and your individual healing response, these small raised areas may settle within several hours or can occasionally remain visible for a few days.
Because polynucleotides work by stimulating gradual repair and regeneration within the skin, results develop progressively over time rather than immediately. Many clients begin to notice improvements in skin quality within the first few weeks, with optimal results typically becoming visible around 6 to 8 weeks following treatment. For optimal results we recommend a course of 2-3 sessions.
"As always very helpful in choices and I never feel rushed into making decisions about my treatment. I personally wouldn’t want to go anywhere else."
